Biography
Irina Busygina works in the Department of Political Science and International Relations at the Higher School of Economics National Research University in Saint Petersburg. She teaches the courses on Comparative Federalism and Decentralization, Russia in World Politics, Russia-EU Relations
Her research interests include Russia-EU relations, Russian politics, Russian foreign policy, comparative federalism and regionalism.
She has been a visiting scholar at the Davis Center, Harvard University, Aleksanteri Institute, University of Helsinki (Finland), Uppsala Centre for Russian Studies (Uppsala University, Sweden), State University of New York (Binghamton, NY, USA), Centre for East European Studies (University of Regensburg, Germany), Slavic Research Centre (University of Hokkaido, Japan), Faculty of Political Science (University of Bergen, Norway).
Busygina is a member of the Executive Committee, PONARS Eurasia in Washington, a member of the Academic Advisory Board at the Centre for East European and International Studies (ZOiS) in Berlin and a member of Scientific Advisory Board, of the Leibniz Science Campus “Eastern Europe – Global Area” (EEGA) in Germany.
