Biography

Ivan Verstyuk is a business editor at NV, a Ukrainian weekly magazine. His main research focus involves Ukrainian and Eastern European investment climate, business scene and political reality. Ivan’s writings often describe how the new Ukrainian economy emerges as an alternative to obsolete commodity-based market with a dominant state-led role.

Ivan Verstyuk is an active follower of what’s happening on the global financial market. He is particularly interested in central bank policies, sovereign debt and technology stocks. Ivan’s op-eds regularly appear on nv.ua, a popular Ukrainian website. Sometimes he uses his articles as an opportunity to explain to a wider audience meaning of Ukrainian history and politics in terms of institutional analysis.

Ivan Verstyuk holds a master’s degree in philosophy from the Russian State University for the Humanities.
