Biography

Sherzod Eraliev is Postdoctoral Researcher in the Aleksanteri Institute, University of Helsinki. He holds a PhD degree from the University of Tsukuba, Japan. He has published peer-review jouranl articles and book chapters on state migration policies, transnationalism, migrant informality, skilled migration, migration and religion, and everyday migrant practices. Sherzod Eraliev was a research fellow at the Central Asia Program of the Institute of European, Russian and Eurasian Studies, George Washington University.

Sherzod Eraliev’s work experience goes beyond academia into the policy field. He has worked in such international organizations as the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross. He provides expert advice and consultancy for international organizations (e.g. the International Organization for Migration, the United Nations Development Program) and various government agencies, civil society and higher education institutions in Uzbekistan.
