Biography

Sossi Tatikyan from Armenia holds a degree of MPA from Harvard Kennedy School and EMBA from ESCP Europe Business School. Her first career has been more than a decade in the Armenian Foreign Ministry mostly specialized in multilateral diplomacy with a focus on security and human rights. Amongst other roles, she has been the Head of NATO Section and Deputy Representative of the Armenian Mission to NATO in 2001-2005, Alternate or Adviser Representative of the OPCW, IAEA and UNODC, Desk Officer in Divisions of Middle East, Policy-Planning, Public Relations, Disarmament and Human Rights. She has organized NATO/EAPC events in Armenia and presented Armenia in NATO/EAPC and IAEA conferences and working groups.

Her second career has been more than a decade in international organizations such as OSCE Mission in Kosovo, UNDP, UN Peace-keeping and Political Missions in Kosovo, Timor-Leste, Central African Republic and Guinea-Bissau, and UN Office to the African Union in the positions of Political Officer and Security Sector Reform Officer. She has also been a Key SSR Expert in the EU State-building project in The Gambia. She kicked off the UNDP project on Modern Parliament for Modern Armenia as a National Programme Manager / Adviser. Currently, she is the Coordinator of the Freedom House Project on Advancing Democratic Culture in Armenia.

Currently, she is acting as an independent expert on public and security policy, governance and reform, cooperating with different international and Armenian organizations, writing articles and giving TV interviews on the issues of her expertise. She has written publications and articles, such as the one on the Correlation of the Euro-Atlantic Security and Energy Security in the South Caucasus as a NATO/PfP Research Fellow, and has conducted research and monitoring on the issues of security sector governance and parliamentary oversight, such as for DCAF. Recently she conducted research on the impact of Covid-19 emergency measures on democracy, human rights and parliamentary oversight in Armenia for WFD/IALS conference.
