Biography
Vasil Navumau is a researcher at the Center for Advanced Internet Studies (Bochum), and an affiliated analyst to Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s headquarters. In 2014, he obtained PhD in Sociology at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology at the Polish Academy of Sciences. Since that time, he got six years of research experience, while working at the research centers in four countries: Uppsala University (IRES) in Sweden, Bremen University (FSO) in Germany, Warsaw University (“Artes Liberales” Faculty) in Poland, and Tartu University (Johan Skytte Institute of Political Studies) in Estonia. Within this period, he published a book “The Belarusian Maidan: A New Social Movement Approach to the 2006 Tent Camp Protest in Minsk” and completed several articles, devoted to the transformation of protest activism in Belarus under the influence of Internet.
